My name is Roland Gilyard, and I am the Owner and Broker of Trinity Capital Funding, LLC. With over two decades of experience in lending, insurance, and financial services, I am passionate about helping clients navigate the path to homeownership and financial success.

I was raised in Compton, California, where I attended Compton Senior High School before earning my degree in History with a business emphasis from the University of California, Los Angeles in 1992. My professional journey began as a small business owner, operating a convenience store in my hometown, which gave me firsthand experience in entrepreneurship and customer service.

After transitioning into the corporate world, I worked in retail management with Big 5 Sporting Goods before obtaining my Property and Casualty license and building a successful insurance career with AAA. There, I helped clients protect what mattered most through auto, home, life, boat, and umbrella insurance policies. I later expanded into commercial insurance sales with Liberty Mutual, working with major corporate clients and Fortune 500 companies.

In 1999, I was introduced to the mortgage industry, where I found my true professional calling. Since then, I have dedicated the majority of my career to helping individuals and families secure the financing they need to achieve their homeownership goals. My experience spans multiple facets of mortgage lending, providing me with a deep understanding of both the lending process and the unique challenges borrowers face.

After spending two years working abroad in Reading, England, I returned to the U.S. in 2009 and what was meant to be a short visit to Portland turned into years of building strong community connections and professional growth. I worked with Wealthbridge Mortgage, served as a fundraiser with United Way, and later held mortgage leadership roles with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage and Willamette Valley Bank.

In November 2016, I founded Trinity Capital Funding, LLC with one clear vision: to offer more loan solutions, better service, and greater flexibility for a wider range of clients. I wanted to create a mortgage company built on trust, transparency, and results.
